33-year-old Colt David Everhart of Mariposa Lane in Morganton was arrested Monday (October 30) by Burke County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged with felony and misdemeanor counts of probation violation.

Everhart is on probation as a result of convictions in Catawba County on June 13, 2022 for felony possession of schedule II controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He received probation and a 36 month suspended sentence following the felony drug conviction.

According to the North Carolina Department Of Adult Correction Offender Public Information website, Everhart has multiple prior convictions listed dating back to 2014, with all but the 2022 cases occurring in Caldwell County. He’s been convicted of charges including felony obtaining property by false pretense and misdemeanor defrauding a drug or alcohol test.

Everhart was arrested shortly before 4:30 p.m. Monday. With the assistance of a bondsman, Everhart was relesed on a $1,000 secured bond. He has a Superior Court date scheduled in Burke County next Monday (November 6).
