Morganton Man Arrested On String Of Charges From Polk County

23-year-old Zariahan Jabar Goode of North Main Street in Morganton was arrested Monday (May 1) by Morganton Public Safety Officers. He’s charged in Polk County with nine felony counts of breaking & entering to a motor vehicle, two counts of felony larceny, single felony counts of conspire to commit felony larceny, and larceny of a firearm. Goode is also charged with three counts of misdemeanor larceny.

Goode was arrested shorty after 9:30 p.m. Monday on West Union Street in Morganton. A Public Safety Officer conducted a traffic stop on a Ford F150 for only burning one headlight. The officer made contact with the occupants. The driver identified the passenger as Zariahan Goode, who was taken into custody.

Goode was transported to Polk County where he was incarcerated in the Polk County Detention Center in Columbus, N.C. under $60,000 secured bond. He remained in jail as of earlier today (May 4). A District Court appearance was scheduled Wednesday (May 3). The next District Court date is set for May 24.
