Morganton Man Arrested On Felony, Misdemeanor Charges Following Traffic Stop

23-year-old Isaiah Tyrell Camp of Tar Heel Drive in Morganton was arrested last Thursday (March 9) by Morganton Public Safety Officers. He’s charged on an indictment with felony flee to elude arrest with a motor vehicle and is also charged with misdemeanor simple possession of schedule VI controlled substance.

Shortly after 12:30 a.m. last Thursday an officer conducted a traffic stop on a green 2014 Toyota Corolla on West Fleming Drive in Morganton. The stop was conducted after it was learned that the registered owner of the vehicle had a felony indictment for his arrest. After making contact with the driver, Isaiah Camp, and confirming the indictment, the suspect was arrested.

Police seized .4 ounces of marijuana during the traffic stop. Camp was brought to the Burke County Jail under a secured bond of $1,000. He is not listed as an inmate in Burke County today (March 15). A Superior Court date is scheduled for March 27, a District Court date is set for May 4.
