Morganton Man Arrested in Hickory on Burke County Forgery Warrant

24-year-old Dekota Ryan Pettry of Oak Hill Drive in Morganton was arrested by Hickory Police yesterday (February 14) on an outstanding felony warrant from Burke County. He was wanted on three felony counts of forgery of endorsement and single felony counts of breaking & entering and larceny after breaking & entering.

Pettry was taken into custody without incident at about 9:45 Wednesday morning at a hotel on 13th Avenue Drive S.E. in Hickory. The suspect was taken to the Catawba County Detention Facility and is currently in the Burke County jail where he is being held without bond. A District Court date was set for February 22 in Morganton. Pettry will also appear in Burke County District Court on February 29 on charges of failure to return rental property, larceny of a motor vehicle, obtaining property by false pretenses, and possession of methamphetamine. In addition, he has a Superior Court date in Morganton coming up on March 4 for assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
