Morganton Man Arrested In Catawba County Drug Trafficking Case
40-year-old Jason Glenn Armstrong of Terrabrook Court in Morganton was arrested Friday (July 21) by Catawba County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged with two counts apiece of trafficking in methamphetamine and possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver schedule I controlled substance (ecstacy and GHB), along with single counts of maintaining a vehicle, dwelling, or place for controlled substance, possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine, possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver MDA/MDMA, possession of drug paraphernalia, and resisting a public officer.
On Friday, investigators with the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Group (SEG) stopped a vehicle on Highway 16 South near the Catawba/Lincoln County line after observing traffic violations. During that time investigators reportedly found and seized 96 grams of methamphetamine, 2.99 grams of crack cocaine, eight dosage units of Ecstasy, five grams of MDMA and three one-ounce vials of GHB.

The vehicle’s driver, Jason Glenn Armstrong, was arrested and charged. He allegedly resisted officers during the arrest. He was jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $100,000 secured bond. A District Court date was scheduled today (July 24).
