27-year-old Tyler Edward Waycaster of Dysartsville Road in Morganton was arrested Tuesday (March 21) by Burke County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged with felony possession of schedule II controlled substance. Two other suspects have been charged with misdemeanor offenses in this case.

On Tuesday, the Burke County Sheriff’s Office patrol, criminal investigations and community/special operations divisions along with North Carolina Department Of Corrections Probation and Parole conducted a joint operation to check on problem offenders. During this operation, a man was found at his U.S. 70 West residence in possession of a schedule III controlled substance.

Waycaster was at the same location and was reportedy found to be in possession of methamphetamine. Both men were arrested without incident. Additionally, during this operation, a Morganton woman was arrested after she attempted to evade law enforcement and probation officers.

Waycaster was issued a $4,000 secured bond, he is not listed as an inmate in Burke County today (March 24). A first court appearance was scheduled Thursday (March 23). His next District Court date is April 10.
