The Alexander County Sheriff’s Office released additional information on the arrests of two suspects in an assault and robbery case, reported earlier this week on WHKY.
39-year-old Shemeka Lanette Little and 43-year-old James Eric Miller, both of Taylorsville, were arrested Monday (May 2) by authorities in Alexander County. Both suspects were charged with felony counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault inflicting serious bodily injury.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the victim in the incident was a woman who suffered injuries as the result of an attack with a baseball bat. The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment of serious but non life-threatening injuries. Authorities say that cash and a debit card were reportedly stolen during the incident.
Both suspects were placed in the Alexander County Detention Center in Taylorsville. Little’s bond was set at $200,000 secured and Miller was jailed under $100,000 secured bond. They both remained in jail as of earlier today (May 5). They’re both scheduled to appear in District Court in Taylorsville May 23.[Story courtesy of Rick Gilbert, WACB]
