We have more details on an arrest we previously reported on WHKY. The suspect is 40-year-old Barry Frederick Holden Brown of Hickory. He’s charged in connection to an armed robbery that occurred at Hickory Mart on 12th Avenue NE in Hickory, on Saturday, June 6.

According to police reports, just after 3:25 a.m. A male subject, later identified as Brown, entered the business armed with a handgun. He allegedly confronted an employee and then stole money from the register and store merchandise then left the business on foot. No injuries occurred in this incident.

A warrant was issued for Brown’s arrest, and he was found later in the afternoon in Statesville by the Statesville Police Department. Brown was charged with felony robbery with a dangerous weapon. He is currently being held at the Catawba County Detention Facility under no bond. This is an ongoing investigation.
