More Details Released in Trafficking Arrest of Morganton Woman

More details have been released in the arrest of 35-year-old Destiny Nicole Miller of Johns River Road in Morganton. She was arrested on April 21, as previously reported by WHKY on April 25. Miller was charged with felony counts of fleeing to elude arrest, trafficking in methamphetamine, and possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver meth, along with misdemeanor counts of driving while license revoked, speeding, and reckless driving to endanger.

Miller was arrested after Burke County Narcotics Investigators stopped a black Ford Excursion for multiple traffic violations on Airport Rhodhiss Road. Investigators identified the driver as Destiny Nicole Miller. As Officers approached the vehicle, Miller took off at a high rate of speed. The suspect made a right hand turn on Bailey Road at speeds up to 80 m.p.h. She was seen throwing a large bag from the driver’s side window. Detectives recovered a clear Ziploc bag that contained approximately 250 grams of meth.

Miller’s disabled vehicle came to rest in a yard at the intersection of Icard School Road and Icard Rhodhiss Road. Investigators searched the vehicle and found about 50 additional grams of meth and a small amount of fentanyl.

Miller was taken into custody and jailed under a $75,000 secured bond. She remained in jail as of this morning (April 28). A first appearance in District Court was scheduled on April 24 with Miller’s next court date coming up on May 15 in Morganton. In addition, she has a Superior Court date on multiple felony drug charges coming up on May 22 in Caldwell County where she has also been charged as an habitual felon.
