More Details Released In Connection To Meth, Heroin Trafficking Arrest

41-year-old Victor Eugene Leatherman of Highway 16 North in Conover was arrested Friday (February 3) by Catawba County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, maintaining a vehicle, dwelling, or place to keep controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a felon, trafficking, opium or heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, simple possession of schedule II controlled substance and two counts of simple possession of schedule III controlled substance. He’s also charged with felony probation violation.

WHKY previously reported on Leatherman’s arrest, more details were released Monday (February 6). On Friday, Investigators with the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office Narcotic’s Division executed a search warrant at a residence on Hwy 16 North in Conover. During the execution of this warrant investigators reportedly found and seized 48 grams of methamphetamine, 10 grams of fentanyl, a .22 caliber revolver, Schedule II and III pills and $1,751.00.

Leatherman is on probation as a result of convictions on February 22, 2022 on felony counts of possession with intent to sell schedule II controlled substance, trafficking schedule II controlled substance, and sell, buy, or possess property with an altered ID. He received probation and a 36 month suspended sentence.

Leatherman was incarcerated in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $100,000 bond. He remained in jail as of earlier today (February 6). A first appearance in District Court was scheduled Monday. His next District Court appearance is set for February 23.
