More Details in Drug Arrest of Taylorsville Woman

The Catawba County Sheriff’s Office has released more information regarding the arrest of 34-year-old Shoua Vang Her of Taylorsville. She was arrested Monday, December 19, as reported today (December 21) by WHKY. Her was charged with felony possession of marijuana, possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver marijuana, maintaining a vehicle, dwelling, or place for the purpose of selling or delivering a controlled substance, two counts of possession of methamphetamine, possession of controlled substance on prison or jail premises, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

At about 6:25 p.m. Monday, Sheriff’s Investigators conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling on Fairgrove Church Road after the Officers noticed a registration violation. During the stop, K-9 Officer Thor alerted to the scent of a controlled substance coming from the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of approximately 4.26 pounds of marijuana, one gram of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and $2,000 in cash. Shoua Vang Her was the driver.

Her was taken into and charged. She was placed in the Catawba County Detention Facility under a $100,000 secured bond. She remained in jail as of this evening. An appearance in District Court was set for tomorrow (December 22) in Newton.
