More Charges Filed Against Lenoir Man for Incident Outside Downtown Boone Pub
Additional charges were filed yesterday (November 8) against 59-year-old Peter Modiene Gabaree of Lenoir. He was charged with two counts of felony possession of a firearm by a felon.
The latest charges are the result of felony convictions in Connecticut in 1992 and an incident that occurred in downtown Boone on November 7, as reported by WHKY yesterday. At that time, Boone Police responded to reports of a man wearing a tactical vest and brandishing a shotgun outside a King Street pub. He was also carrying a handgun and ammunition for both weapons. Gabaree had previously been asked to leave the pub.
He was initially charged with going armed to the terror of the public and resisting officers. Bond on those charges was set at $10,000, secured. Gabaree was given a $50,000 secured bond on the firearms charges. Appearances in Watauga County District Court were scheduled for December 7 & 20.
