William Stanley of Mooresville has won $100,000 in the N.C. Education Lottery’s $4-million Gold Rush game. Mr. Stanley purchased a single $20 ticket at the Walmart store on Supercenter Drive Northeast in Kannapolis.
He claimed his prize yesterday (November 30) at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. After required federal and state tax withholdings, he took home $70,756. Mr. Stanley said he plans to put the money into savings.
