Mooresville Begins Overnight Parking Enforcement

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (WHKY) — Overnight parking restrictions take effect Thursday, October 1, in several downtown public lots.

The Town of Mooresville says vehicles remaining in the affected lots between 2 and 6 a.m. will be subject to enforcement and towing.

The restrictions cover the upper and lower rear lots at the Charles Mack Citizen Center, accessible from Church Street; the Church Street public lot between Moore and Center avenues; and the Liberty Park lot accessed from Iredell Avenue.

Overnight parking remains available in the public lot at Church Street and Iredell Avenue and is currently permitted on the street.  Businesses whose employees regularly work past 2 a.m. will receive special passes.

Town officials say the change is intended to maintain access to downtown businesses and follows discussions with Mill One, the Mooresville Downtown Commission and business owners.
