99 new cases of COVID-19 were reported Sunday (November 22) by Catawba County Public Health, lifting the overall total to 6,364, with 82 deaths. There were 57 people hospitalized with the coronavirus in Catawba County Sunday, one more than the Saturday (November 21) update.
According to the Burke County Public Health update, 95 new cases of the coronavirus were reported Sunday, raising the total to 3,881, with 65 deaths. There were 10 Burke County residents hospitalized with COVID.
The last update from the Caldwell County Health Department on Saturday showed 3,242 cases of the virus since the start of the pandemic, with 39 deaths. There were 27 people hospitalized as of Saturday. No new cases of COVID-19 were reported by Alexander County health officials Sunday. The total remained at 1,373 cases with 13 deaths.
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services reported 4,514 new coronavirus cases Sunday, the highest total in a single day since the start of the pandemic.
