According to the last update from Catawba County Public Health last Thursday (April 1), 28 new cases of COVID-19 were reported, raising the overall total to 17,847 since the start of the pandemic. No COVID-19-associated deaths were reported by health officials, leaving the total at 295. 15 people were hospitalized with the coronavirus in Catawba County, the same total as Wednesday.
Caldwell County’s last update was issued Thursday as well, and it showed nine new cases of the virus, increasing the total to 8,977, with 140 deaths. There were seven people hospitalized. According to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, 20 new cases of COVID-19 were added in Alexander County, raising the total to 4,165, with 84 deaths.
Friday’s (April 2) update from Burke County health officials showed an addition of 28 cases of the coronavirus, lifting the total to 9,735, with 147 deaths. There were six people hospitalized.
