13-year-old Wyatt Brian Meyers, who had gone missing from his home on Windy Woods Drive in Morganton on August 23, has been found and is safe. His parents reported him missing on the 23rd.
The Burke County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in the search by Special Agents from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation’s (S.B.I.) Northwestern District and Special Agents from the S.B.I.’s Criminal Apprehension Team. They found Meyers at about 11:50 last night (August 26) at a Charlotte apartment complex in the university area. Officers from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department were also on hand when the teen was found.
He was unharmed and has been reunited with his parents. The Burke County Sheriff’s Office released a statement this morning (August 27) stating that the case has been closed.
