Missing Lincoln County Woman Found, Safe

At about 9:45 Wednesday night (October 25), Deputies were dispatched to a residence on the 7100 block of West N.C. Highway 27 in reference to a woman who left her residence following a disagreement with a family member.

Family members say the 62-year-old female, whose identity was not released, was last seen walking down the driveway toward Highway 27 West. Family members and Deputies searched the area around the residence, but did not locate the woman. K-9 units were brought in and the Lincoln County Land Search team was activated with a command post established at Hull’s Grove Baptist Church.

Deputies were preparing to enter the woman into the National Crime Information Center’s database as a missing person when a member of the Land Search team spotted the woman walking along Highway 27 West. The woman told Officers she had fallen asleep in a wooded area and was returning home. Despite several medical issues, including C.O.P.D., the woman was said to be in good condition.
