Meth, Trespassing Charges Filed Against Suspect Arrested In Burke County

38-year-old Jeffery Daniel Rudisill, who is listed as a homeless person from Morganton, was arrested Thursday (March 21) by Morganton Public Safety Officers. He’s charged with felony possession of schedule II controlled substance (methamphetamine) and misdemeanor second-degree trespassing.

At 12:40 a.m. Thursday a Public Safety Officer responded to McDonalds on West Union Street in reference to a trespassing complaint. The officer made contact with the suspect, Rudisill, who, according to police reports, is banned from the location. During a search of Rudisill, an officer found a baggy in his inner coat pocket containing a crystal-like substance. Police seized .2 grams of meth during their investigation.

Jeffery Daniel Rudisill has multiple convictions listed on the North Carolina Department Of Adult Correction Offender Public Information website. He’s been convicted of felony and misdemeanor charges, all of the cases are from Burke County and date back to 2003. The most recent conviction was in September, 2023.

Rudisill was incarcerated in the Burke County Jail under $5,000 secured bond. A District Court date is scheduled for April 11.
