35-year-old David Allen Dawson, Jr., who is listed as a homeless person from Morganton, was arrested last Saturday (July 15) by Morganton Public Safety Officers. He’s charged with felony possession of schedule II controlled substance (methamphetamine).

Dawson was arrested at 8 p.m. Saturday at an address on South Sterling Street in Morganton. During the arrest, .7 grams of a white crystal-like substance was seized by police.

Following the arrest, Dawson was confined in the Burke County Jail under $3,000 secured bond. He remained in jail as of earlier today (July 18). Dawson’s next District Court date is set for August 7.
