Men Sentenced To Jail Time In Alexander County

29-year old Caleb Luke Hollar of Taylorsville was ordered to serve 12 months in jail on Monday (March 6). An Alexander County District Court Judge remanded Hollar to serve the time in the Alexander County Detention Center for a pair of DWI convictions.

Hollar has one prior conviction listed online at the North Carolina Department Of Adult Correction Offender Public Information website. In September, 2015 he was convicted of DWI level 4 in Burke County and received probation and a suspended sentence. There are no other convictions listed in North Carolina.

26-year-old Carlos Alberto Gonzalez-Marquez of Taylorsville, is also serving a jail sentence after entering a guilty plea in Alexander County District Court on Monday. The charges against Gonzalez-Marquez included violation of a domestic violence protection order, injury to real property and assault on a law enforcement officer.

A judge ordered the defendant to serve 150 days in the Alexander County Detention Center. Gonzalez-Marquez was arrested on January 29 by Alexander County Sheriff’s Deputies. He has convictions listed online in September and November 2022 in Alexander County. The charges include violation of a domestic violence protective order and driving while license permanently revoked. No convictions are listed in North Carolina prior to 2022.
