MORGANTON, N.C. (WHKY) – Morganton City Council is holding a second Public Hearing to discuss a Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) $15,000,000 grant request to be submitted to the North Carolina Department of Commerce Division of Community Revitalization (DCR). This project will restore baseball, softball, and soccer fields, as well as supporting infrastructure at the Catawba Meadows Park and Catawba River Soccer Complex.

100% of the CDBG-DR funds will benefit low- and moderate-income persons. The Public Hearing will be held at the regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, October 5th, 2026, at 6:00 pm in the City Council Chambers, 305 E. Union St, Ste A100, Morganton, NC 28655.
