40-year-old Timothy Eugene Saulman of West Cross Street in Marion was arrested by Hickory Police at about 11:30 last night (November 30) on two misdemeanor counts of breaking & entering a coin-operated machine and single misdemeanor counts of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and resisting, delaying, or obstructing a public officer. He was also charged with a felony probation violation. Saulman is on probation as he serves a 48-month suspended sentence following a January 2020 felony conviction in Burke County for receiving a stolen vehicle.
Saulman was taken into custody at a convenience store on Highway 70 S.W. in Hickory. He was placed in the Catawba Co. Detention Facility under an unspecified bond. He has since been released. No court date is currently listed.
