Man Sentenced To One Year In Jail, Appeal Entered In Case
A Statesville man was sentenced to serve one year in the Alexander County Detention Center. The sentence was appealed.
On Monday (July 3), 54-year-old Randy David Lambert appeared in Alexander County District Court on charges of driving while impaired, reckless driving with wanton disregard and failure to maintain lane control. Lambert was ordered by a judge to spend the next year in jail. Lambert’s attorney appealed the ruling and his client was placed in custody pending his next court date.
According to the North Carolina Department Of Adult Correction Offender Public Information website, Randy David Lambert has a criminal history that includes multiple convictions dating back to 1988. The cases are from Alexander and Iredell counties with the most recent listed conviction in January, 2020. Many of the charges are misdemeanor counts including driving while impaired and assault on a female.
Lambert also has charges pending in Iredell County where he faces misdemeanor counts of breaking or entering and damage to property. Following Monday’s appearance in court, Lambert was incarcerated in the Alexander County Detention Center under $30,000 secured bond. He remained in jail as of earlier today (July 7). An Alexander County court date is scheduled for August 14. Lambert has an Iredell County court appearance scheduled for July 19.
