Man Rescued From Well In Vale

A man was rescued from a well in Vale earlier today (January 19). According to multiple published reports, the incident occurred on Lefevers Road in Vale. Reports said it was in the vicinity of Banoak Elementary off Highway 10.

The 68-year-old man fell approximately 25 feet down a well. Rescue officials were told the man was in waist deep water with unknown injuries.

Firefighters from Hickory, Newton, Maiden, and Cooksville responded to the scene. The man was reportedly doing some work on the inside of a stairwell and didn’t know the well, which was covered with some tin, existed.

The man was rescued from the well and airlifted to the hospital in unknown condition.
