Man Released From Prison Less Than Six Months Ago Charged With Violating Parole

34-year-old Ky Allen Oxentine of Taylorsville was arrested Monday (April 15) by Probation and Parole Officers. He’s charged with felony parole violation. Oxentine was previously charged in Alexander County with counts including hit & run, leaving the scene of an accident with property damage, failure to report an accident, and driving while license revoked.

Oxentine is on parole following his release from prison last November. He was incarcerated from September 22, 2022 until November 27, 2023 following a conviction in Alexander County for felony counts of safecracking, larceny, obtaining property by false pretense, delivery or sale of schedule II controlled substance and being an habitual felon. He was sentenced to three years, two months to four years, ten months and was granted parole after serving just over 14 months.

According to the North Carolina Department Of Adult Correction Offender Public Information website, Oxentine has multiple convictions dating back to 2006. Most of the cases, in which he was convicted of various felony and misdemeanor offenses, are from Alexander County. The charges include felony counts of breaking and entering to vehicles, burglary, larceny of firearms, and malicious conduct by a prisoner.

Oxentine was jailed without bond in the Alexander County Detention Center. He’s scheduled to appear in District Court on the previously filed traffic counts May 20 in Taylorsville.
