MORGANTON, N.C. (WHKY) – The Burke County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance with gathering any information that may help them find 59-year-old Gary Dean Trivette, who is missing from the Morganton area. Gary’s family reported him missing on August 15, 2026, after he had not been seen or heard from in about three weeks. His last known address was 4986 Duckworth Circle in Morganton.

Gary was known to walk throughout the area and frequently visited locations along the U.S. 64 corridor in Morganton. Since his disappearance was reported, the Burke County Sheriff’s Office has conducted an extensive investigation and followed up on numerous tips and information from community members. As part of the investigation, investigators have checked businesses and stores in the area and searched multiple vacant residences.

Investigators have also followed up on other information and leads provided by the public. Despite these efforts, Gary has not been found.
