NEWTON, N.C. (WHKY)  — A man has been jailed in Catawba County on methamphetamine trafficking charges. 66-year-old Joel Nickolas Baker was booked Friday, October 2, according to county detention records.

The roster lists two counts of trafficking in methamphetamine and a felony charge of maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for controlled substances. The Catawba County Sheriff’s Office is listed as the agency handling the charges.

Baker is scheduled to appear Friday, October 2, in District Court in Newton. No bond amount was listed.
