Man Jailed On Cocaine Trafficking Charge In Burke County

33-year-old Jarae Maran Millsaps of Wilkesboro Boulevard in Lenoir was arrested last Tuesday, April 18, by Morganton Public Safety Officers. He’s charged with felony trafficking cocaine along with misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and carrying a concealed weapon.

Millsaps was arrested shortly before 11:30 p.m. last Tuesday at an address on Lenoir Road in Morganton. According to North Carolina Department Of Adult Correction
Offender Public Information website, the suspect has a criminal history with convictions dating back to 2009.

Millsaps’ most recent conviction was in Burke County in September, 2022 for misdemeanor violation of a protective order. He received probation and an 18 month suspended sentence. The convictions on record are in Caldwell and Burke Counties on charges including felony counts of breaking & entering, larceny after breaking & entering, and possession of schedule II controlled substance.

Millsaps was incarcerated in the Burke County Jail under $10,000 secured bond. He remained in jail as of earlier today (April 25). A District Court appearance is scheduled for May 11.
