Man Jailed In Alexander County For Allegedly Failing To Appear In Court On Multiple Charges

32-year old Paul Dwayne Cook, Jr. of Stony Point was taken into custody last Thursday (December 23) on failure to appear counts. According to North Carolina Court records, Cook faces charges in Alexander and Iredell Counties.

In Alexander County, Cook is charged with three felony counts of possession of a firearm by a felon, along with counts of driving while impaired, possession of drug paraphernalia, reckless driving to endanger, speeding, driving while license revoked, and open container.

In Iredell County, Cook is charged with driving while impaired, civil revocation of drivers license, speeding, reckless driving with wanton disregard, open container, and driving while license revoked.

Previously, the North Carolina Highway Patrol arrested Cook on December 9, 2020. Following that arrest, Cook was placed in the Alexander County Detention Center with a secured bond of $25,000.

Following last Thursday’s arrest, Cook was placed in the Alexander County Detention Center with a secured bond of $75,000. He remained in jail as of earlier today (December 27) Cook has an Alexander County District Court date January 3 and an Iredell County District Court date January 11.
