Man Found Passed Out in Church Parking Lot Faces Felony Drug Charges
22-year-old Quincy Harold Michael of Conover has been arrested by Troopers with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol and Alexander County Sheriff’s Officers. He faces felony counts of possession of marijuana, possession of a schedule I controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling to use a controlled substance, and possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver a controlled substance, along with misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and carrying a concealed weapon. The Highway Patrol charged Michael with D.W.I.
He was arrested yesterday (March 1) after the Highway Patrol was contacted about a red Ford F-150 in the parking lot at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church on Patterson Road in Hiddenite. The driver was slumped over the steering wheel. The Trooper called 9-1-1 to report a possible overdose.
Sheriff’s Deputies arrived on the scene to assist. Officers were able to wake the man and begin their investigation. Officers seized approximately 400 grams of marijuana, one gram of Fentanyl, a Glock pistol, drug paraphernalia, and $6,198 in cash. The driver, Quincy Michael, was taken into custody and charged accordingly.

Michael was placed in the Alexander County Detention Center under a $100,000 secured bond. A first appearance in District Court is coming up on Monday (March 6). The investigation is ongoing.
