29-year-old Triston Dionte Perrin of Statesville was arrested last Wednesday (August 23) by Statesville Police Officers. He’s charged with felony counts of second-degree forcible rape, assault by strangulation, and first-degree kidnapping, two felony counts of attempted second-degree forcible sex offense, and misdemeanor assault on a female.

On August 19, 2023, the Statesville Police Department responded to a reported sexual assault at an address on Carolina Avenue North. The suspect was identified as Triston Dionte Perrin.

According to the investigation, it was discovered that the suspect had initiated contact with the victim online and arranged a meeting at the Carolina Avenue North address, the location of Northview Academy, at 3 a.m. Both the victim and the suspect are adults with no affiliation to the school. The victim, who was not familiar with the area, arrived at the school in her vehicle while maintaining a phone conversation with the suspect.

The suspect arrived at the school and met the victim in the outside picnic area, where the alleged assault took place. The Statesville Police Department would like to emphasize that aside from the suspect selecting it as a meeting location, there is no association between the incident and Northview Academy.

Perrin was arrested at his residence. He was issued a secured bond of $850,000. Perrin also received an additional $3,000 secured bond for an outstanding order for arrest for failure to appear. He remained in the Iredell County Detention Center as of earlier today (August 28). His next District Court date is September 14.
