Man Charged With Multiple Counts Of Statutory Rape, Sexual Offenses With A Child

40-year-old Chad Lee Davis of Grey Manor Drive in Statesville was arrested by Iredell County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged with three felony counts apiece of statutory rape by an adult, statutory sexual offense, and sexual offenses with a child.

On August 29, 2020 a report was filed with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office in reference to a child being sexually assaulted by an acquaintance. The investigation was assigned to Detective Sergeant Jason Lowrance with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Special Victim’s Unit. The juvenile victim was interviewed at the Dove House Children’s Advocacy Center.

During the course of the investigation, Det. Sgt. Lowrance located witnesses and collected evidence. Based on information gathered during the investigation, Chad Lee Davis was identified as the suspect. He was arrested Wednesday (September 23) and incarcerated in the Iredell County Detention Center under $500,000 secured bond. Davis remained in jail as of earlier today. A District Court appearance is scheduled for October 15.

The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office says Davis’ criminal history includes two counts of misdemeanor injury to personal property, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, and several driving related charges.
