Man Charged With Felony Drug Offenses Following Traffic Stop & Search Of Vehicle
32-year-old Dionte Jaquan Clark of Brevard Street in Statesville was arrested Monday (April 24) by Iredell County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged with felony counts of possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, maintaining a vehicle for controlled substance, and possession of a stolen firearm. Clark is also charged with misdemeanor counts of carrying a concealed gun, possession of schedule IV controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while license revoked along with a count of expired registration and inspection.
According to information released Thursday (April 27), on Monday a deputy with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team conducted a traffic stop on a Chrysler 300 for traffic violations. During a search of the vehicle, deputies reportedly found 290.6 grams of marijuana, four dosage units of a schedule IV controlled substance, marijuana paraphernalia, a Taurus handgun that was reported stolen from Statesville, and $970 cash. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Dionte Jaquan Clark.

Clark’s criminal history includes misdemeanor convictions in Iredell County in 2010, 2013, and 2017. He was arrested Monday and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center where he received a $20,000 secured bond. Clark is not listed as an inmate in Iredell County today (April 28). His next District Court date is May 15.
