On Thursday, during a routine traffic stop, an Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Deputy learned that a passenger in the vehicle identified as Gregory Fisher Butler III, had multiple outstanding warrants for his arrest. One warrant was connected to an incident in November 2022 where Butler fled from Troutman Police on foot after he was allegedly found to be in possession of cocaine.

Butler was placed under arrest and brought to the Iredell County Detention Center under a $22,500 dollar secured bond for the outstanding warrants. A secondary search of Butler was conducted while he was inside the Detention Center, and the officer found approximately 43.25 grams of meth in his possession. The additional charges were filed against Butler.

An additional $350,000 secured bond was added on the new charges, bringing his total bond to $377,500 secured. He remained in jail as of earlier today (July 17). A District Court appearance is scheduled for August 2.
