Man Charged With Drug Offenses Following Traffic Stop, Vehicle Theft Charges Also Filed
32-year-old Marcus Eugene Price, Jr., who lists addresses in Statesville and High Point, was arrested Saturday (April 22) by Iredell County Sheriff’s Officers. He was charged with felony possession of schedule I controlled substance along with misdemeanor counts of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
On Saturday, shortly after 6:30 p.m., a deputy with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team conducted a traffic stop on a Toyota Camry for a traffic violation. The vehicle was stopped on Wooten Street in Statesville. According to police reports, the vehicle was being operated by Marcus Eugene Price, Jr.
During the course of the investigation Deputies reportedly found 2.94 grams of fentanyl, 3.35 grams of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. Price was placed under arrest and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center.
According to the North Carolina Department Of Adult Correction Offender Public Information website, Price’s criminal history shows a conviction in June, 2021 in Guilford County on felony counts of trafficking schedule I and II controlled substance, possession with intent to sell schedule I and II controlled substance, and possession of schedule I controlled substance along with a misdemeanor count of maintaining a place for controlled substance.
Bond for Price was initially set at $2,000 secured. According to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Police to Citizen (P2C) website, in addition to the drug charges, Price is charged with counts of larceny of a motor vehicle and possession of a stolen motor vehicle. As of earlier today, he was being held in the Iredell County Detention Center under $40,000 secured bond. A District Court date on the drug charges is scheduled for May 15. No court date was listed on the stolen vehicle counts.
