Man Charged With Drug Offenses Following Search Of Vehicle

36-year-old Jimmy Wayne Martin of Eagle Mills Road in Hamptonville was arrested by Iredell County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged with felony possession of methamphetamine along with misdemeanor counts of possession of schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to information released Wednesday (December 28), on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at approximately 4:30 p.m. a Sergeant with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team was working in the Harmony area when he noticed a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of Harmony United Methodist Church.

The Sergeant made contact with a woman and man who were sitting inside the vehicle. While speaking with the occupants, the Sergeant utilized his canine partner “Wilbur” to conduct a free-air sniff around the exterior of the vehicle for the odor of narcotics. The canine gave a positive indication on the vehicle. The vehicle was then searched.

Methamphetamine and adderall pills were reportedly found in the man’s possession. He was identified as Jimmy Wayne Martin, who was arrested and charged. He received a $2,500 secured bond. Martin is not listed as an inmate in Iredell County. A District Court date is set for January 11.
