Man Charged With Break-in To Fire Department

33-year-old Nicholas Allan Payret of Mackwood Road in Mooresville was arrested Thursday (June 13) by Iredell County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged with three felony counts of larceny after breaking & entering, two felony counts of breaking & entering to a motor vehicle, and single felony counts of first-degree burglary & breaking & entering. Payret is also charged with four misdemeanor counts of damage to personal property and one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct.

On Thursday (June 13), shortly before 6 a.m. Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Deputies were dispatched to Mount Mourne Fire Dept located on Mecklenburg Highway. They were called in reference to a breaking and entering in progress. The deputies quickly responded and found Nicholas Allan Payret inside the department. He was detained, and the deputies began their investigation.

During the investigation, deputies determined that Payret had broken into multiple vehicles and had stolen items. He also allegedly damaged several items in and around the fire department.

Payret was arrested and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center. He was incarcerated under a $102,500 dollar secured bond. A District Court date is scheduled for July 2.
