Man Charged In Connection To Theft Of Construction Materials

60-year-old Reginald Anthony Glover of Statesville was arrested Sunday (November 12) by Statesville Police Officers. He’s charged with felony larceny from a construction site and misdemeanor possession of stolen goods or property.

On Sunday night, an officer with the Statesville Police Department spotted a suspicious vehicle in the area of Winston Avenue and 7th Street. There were construction materials hanging out of the vehicle’s window. The driver of the vehicle took what the officer described as suspicious actions by stopping on Wilson Lee Boulevard., turning off the lights, and exiting the vehicle.

The officer approached the driver and a back seat passenger, identified as Reginald Glover. Aware of an ongoing construction project nearby, officers inspected the new home under construction in the 1100 block of Wilson Lee Boulevard. Matching brand-name construction materials, including vinyl siding, flashing, strips, and trim, were found at the site. These materials matched those found in the vehicle with Glover.

The driver of the vehicle cooperated fully with the officers, providing information on the location where Glover had loaded the stolen construction materials. Reginald Glover, who, according to a news release, admitted his guilt, was taken into custody and brought before a magistrate and charged. Due to the their full cooperation and Glover’s statement explicitly clearing them of any involvement, no charges were filed against the driver of the vehicle.

Glover was incarcerated in the Iredell County Detention Center, where he remained as of earlier today (November 14) under $30,000 secured bond. A District Court date is set for December 5.
