Man Indicted In Connection To Overdose Death

25-year-old Tristan Randy Charles Strickland of Huntersville was arrested by Mooresville Police Officers. He’s charged on a true bill of indictment with one count of second-degree murder and one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to sell schedule I controlled substance.

On September 28, 2023, Mooresville Police Department Detectives began an investigation into the overdose death of 25-year-old William Carney. During the investigation, Detectives learned that Strickland had allegedly provided Carney with the lethal dose of fentanyl.

On January 3, 2024, an Iredell County Grand Jury returned the indictment against Strickland. On Wednesday (January 17), Strickland was arrested in Charlotte by the United States Marshals Service.

He was placed in the Iredell County Detention Center under a $750,000 secured bond. He remained in jail as of earlier today (January 18). A Superior Court appearance is scheduled for April 29.
