Man Charged In Connection To Break-ins To New Homes, Second Suspect Sought

50-year-old Stephen Dennis Horner of Statesville was arrested Wednesday (August 2) by Troutman Police Officers. He’s charged with seven felony counts apiece of breaking & entering and larceny after breaking & entering along with one felony count of larceny. A second suspect, Paul Kent Blackwell, Jr. was being sought in this case.

In late July officers took reports of breaking and entering to homes in new developments and reports of larceny from other construction sites. Through investigation, officers identified both subjects and the Criminal Investigations Unit obtained warrants for the two individuals.

On Wednesday, patrol officers saw the suspect vehicle and made a traffic stop. Horner was driving the vehicle and he was arrested on outstanding warrants. Bond for Horner was set at $50,000 secured. He remained in jail as of earlier today (August 4). A District Court appearance is scheduled for August 23. The other suspect, Paul Kent Blackwell Jr., had not yet been arrested.
