Man Charged In Connection To Break-in, Reportedly Found Wearing Victim’s Blouse

31-year-old Moises Ailon Agustin of Hilltop Street in Morganton was arrested Saturday (February 17) by Morganton Public Safety Officers. He’s charged with felony larceny after breaking & entering and misdemeanor damage to property.

Officers responded to an address on Bouchelle Street after receiving a call from a family member who told them a stranger was inside the residence. Officers arrived and found the back door to the residence broken and glass on the floor.

Officers began to clear the home and reportedly found the suspect, Agustin, sitting in a recliner in one of the bedrooms with a blanket over his head.  Agustin was taken into custody and placed in a patrol car. The homeowner arrived moments later and informed officers that Agustin was wearing her blouse.

The suspect was placed in the Burke County Jail under a $10,000 secured bond. He remained in jail as of earlier today (February 19). A District Court appearance was scheduled today.
