20-year-old Andrew Scott Villagomez of Wilkesboro was arrested Tuesday (July 11) in Alexander County by Troopers with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. He’s charged with felony flee to elude arrest with a motor vehicle. Villagomez is also charged with traffic counts including reckless driving to endanger, failure to heed light or siren, speeding, and operating a vehicle with no insurance.

Villagomez was taken into custody by the Highway Patrol following a reported pursuit with police. The brief chase ended at the State Employees Credit Union on Highway 16 in Taylorsville. The suspect was taken into custody following the chase then later released under a secured bond of $10,000. Villagomez is scheduled to appear in District Court July 17.
