29-year-old Michelle Simpson Greer of Island Ford Road in Maiden was arrested Friday (February 24) on charges filed by the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office and Probation & Parole. The Sheriff’s Office charged Greer with possession of methamphetamine. Probation & Parole charged her with felony and misdemeanor counts of probation violation along with a count of attempted trafficking in meth.

Greer is on probation as a result of convictions on January 18 and January 23 of this year in Catawba County. The January 18 conviction was for felony possession with intent to sell schedule II controlled substance and the conviction on January 23 was for misdemeanor driving while impaired. Greer received probation and suspended sentences in both cases, 30 months on January 18 and six months on the 23rd.

Following Friday’s arrest, She was jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility where she remained as of earlier today (February 28) under $88,000 bond. A Superior Court date was scheduled Monday (February 27), a District Court date is March 16.
