Maiden Resident Charged With Stealing Jewelry While Working With Cleaning Crew
38-year-old Brandi Wise Bolin of Maiden was arrested Monday (March 27) by Lincoln County Sheriff’s Officers. She’s charged with felony counts of larceny, possession of stolen goods, and possession of schedule II controlled substance (methamphetamine) along with a misdemeanor count of possession of scheule VI controlled substance.
A cleaning crew was working at a residence in the 2100 block of Startown Road in Lincolnton on Monday. The homeowner notified the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office that more than $25,000 in jewelry was missing when she returned home from work at approximately 12 p.m. Five rings were stolen, according to reports.
Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies and detectives worked with the cleaning company to determine when the crew would finish their work for the day and set up surveillance at a commercial parking lot in the Boger City area. When the crew arrived officers, along with the company owner, met them at the parking area.
Each member of the crew was questioned and allowed officers to search their hand bags. Detectives found the five stolen rings in the bag of one of the workers, Brandi Wise Bolin, who admitted to the theft. Officers also reportedly found a small bag of marijuana and a container of what appeared to be crystal methamphetamine. The rings were recovered.
Bolin was placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond. The suspect was not listed as an inmate as of today (March 29). A District Court appearance is scheduled for April 18.
