37-year-old Deon Thompson of Bud Arndt Road in Maiden has been arrested by Catawba Co. Sheriff’s Officers on charges of possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver a schedule II controlled substance and maintaining a vehicle, dwelling, or place for a controlled substance. He was also served with outstanding warrants on three counts of obtaining property by false pretenses.

On Saturday (November 28), Thompson was placed in the Catawba Co. Detention Facility with bond set at $45,000. A first appearance in District Court was scheduled today (November 30) in Newton with another court date coming up on December 8.
