LR’s Colley Once Again Leads Women’s Golf

The Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Golf team finished in 6th place in this week’s Low Tide Intercollegiate Tournament as Charlotte Colley finished in a tie for third to continue her streak as the freshman has finished in the top four in the last three tournaments.

Colley was in position to win her first career tournament but shot a 76 in the final round while Claudia Hastings of Limestone shot a 71 to overtake Colley and take home the gold.

Limestone also won the team honors as the Bears finished in sixth place thirty-three shots off the lead. Bears did finished ahead of SAC foes, Catawba, Newberry, Coker and Tusculum in the 13 team field.

Eve Neild finished in 17th place with a +10 on the tournament while Jaya Wilkinson finished with a +14 and a 26th place finish. Marta Escudero (+20) and Sabrina Kulhankova (+36) rounded out the Bears lineup.

Colley lead the whole field with 12 birdies in the three rounds while Wilkinson had the most pars with 35 for the Bears this week.

The Bears will have a week off before heading to Stonebirdge Golf Club for the Jerry Surratt Memorial on March 10.
