43-year-old Thomas Eugene Ikard of 39th Street NW in Long View was arrested Friday (April 14) on charges filed by the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office and Probation & Parole. He’s charged by the Sheriff’s Office with felony counts of habitual misdemeanor assault and common law robbery. Probation & Parole charged Ikard with misdemeanor probation violation.

Ikard is on probation as a result of a conviction in Burke County on March 2, 2023 on misdemeanor counts of communicating threats and false imprisonment. He received probation and an 18 month suspended sentence. Following Friday’s arrest, Ikard was confined in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $9,000 bond. District Court appearances were scheduled today (April 17) and for April 24.
