James Cozart was sworn in as the new Town Manager for the Town of Long View today (June 30). Mr. Cozart had served as Interim Town Manager since April of this year.

Mr. Cozart, who has lived in Long View for 23 years, previously served as an Accounts Payable Technician in Long View’s Finance Department. He was hired by the town in July of 2002. After two years, he was promoted to Finance Director. In that role, he managed the town’s finances for the last 19 years.

Mr. Cozart holds a North Carolina Certified Finance Officer certificate and Certified Municipal Administration certificate from the University of North Carolina’s School of Government in Chapel Hill.

Apart from his duties at Town Hall, Mr. Cozart and his wife, Kimberly, are active in various roles at their church.
