41-year-old Taylor Ashton Hall of Taylorsville was arrested Wednesday (August 9) by Alexander County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged with 50 counts of felony sexual exploitation of a minor.

Hall was arrested following an investigation that began in March of this year. The probe was related to the downloading of child pornography. Investigators were able to track the IP address to a location in Alexander County and to an individual living at the address. Search warrants were obtained, and on Wednesday Hall was taken into custody.

According to the North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections Offender Public Information website, Taylor Ashton Hall has a conviction listed in Catawba County in January, 2022. He was convicted of misdemeanor counts of assault on a female, second-degree trespassing, and cyberstalking. Hall received probation and a suspended sentence.

Hall was confined in the Alexander County Detention Center following Wednesday’s arrest under a secured bond of $1,000,000. He remained in jail as of earlier today (August 11). A District Court appearance is scheduled next Monday (August 14).
